Make an
Impact.
Change
Lives.

Get involved with an organization that makes life-changing impacts for the homeless and less fortunate in Knoxville. Enjoy the satisfaction of giving back and a strong fellowship with other volunteers. Seeing the joy something as simple as a haircut can bring to someone is an inspiring experience we can all benefit from!

While we welcome anyone who would like to volunteer, we want to make sure everyone has a chance to make a significant impact and enjoy their experience. For this reason, we try to cap the number of volunteers appropriately for each event.* If we are booked for an event, please consider signing up for the next one. We appreciate your interest and hope to see you there!

Sunday Schedule:

7:30-9:30am: Set up

9:30-2:00pm: Registration, Prayer Table, Medical Team. Drink Center, Food, Guides, Clothing, Shower Trailer, Haircuts & Resources

2:00pm: Sanitize & Break Down

We are closed all Holiday weekends and the 5th Sunday months.

You must be 18 years or older to volunteer with CareCuts

*This is a suggested number so no volunteers will be turned away at the door if limits have been reached for that event

What to Expect

Day of the Event

Please arrive early for Volunteer Check-in. When you arrive at our event you will check in at the Volunteer Registration Desk. You’ll choose an area you prefer to work. You’ll then be introduced to the team leader of your chosen area (i.e. Food, Clothing, Hair Cut, Guides, Registration, etc…) and you’re ready to start the day!

What to Wear

Volunteers should dress casual. We recommend shorts in summer and coats in winter if you plan to work at registration, guide, or food stations. Hair cuts are done inside.

Don’t forget to wear an orange shirt! CareCuts t-shirts are available for purchase (donation of choice).

Shift Length

Our events run from 9:30am – 2pm each Sunday. Short shifts last approximately 2-3 hours with long shifts lasting about 4 hours.
