Helping the homeless since 2016
Founded by Marti Baker, CareCuts of Knoxville’s mission is to be the hands and feet for Jesus Christ by serving the homeless and the less fortunate of the Knoxville. Taking inspiration from her time volunteering with the Lost Sheep Ministry, Marti saw the need for a group to come together to groom and help the homeless and less fortunate regain their dignity. Presentation is a very important step for people looking to find jobs and get back on their feet.
CareCuts began at Knoxville Institute of Hair Design in April 2016 in the Happy Holler area of Knoxville. Unfortunately, this long-existing school closed its doors only four months after we began—CareCuts became homeless, too. God had a new plan for CareCuts, though, and the ministry never missed a beat. In August 2016, one of our volunteer hairdressers, Michael Layne of Belleza Salon, reached out to Jeremy Wann of Geo Hair Labs (300 W. Fifth Ave.). Jeremy graciously offered to host CareCuts at Geo Hair Labs every month since.
Since April 2016, CareCuts has grown leaps and bounds and added many new services in addition to just grooming needs. Angelic Ministries, Ladies of Charity, Goverment Phone services, SSI Disability, Lions Club and Vet2Vet just to name a few. CareCuts is growing and we are looking forward to see how far it can go.
Thank you for joining the cause!
We would love to hear from you!
